Carol Rickard is a popular registered celebrant based in Tauranga, New Zealand. Amongst her busy schedule officiating weddings, Carol takes pleasure in capturing peoples lives in her ‘My Grateful Life’ biographies. The latest of which was for a man called Charles William Purcell. Carol did a fantastic job instilling his intellect, his wit and his charm into a forty three thousand word manuscript. She then needed a designer and publisher to translate this character into a printed book. I took care of all aspects of design and publishing including cover, layout, typesetting, image scheduling and placement, and printing. I throughly enjoyed the project, and you can see Carol’s kind feedback below…
The spoken word is powerful but fleeting and for that reason I wanted to note my absolute delight at your exceptional design of my latest ‘My Grateful Life’ book.
Not only was the design work outstanding, so were the time lines that saw the book filed for print ahead of schedule.
You have been a pleasure to work with as nothing was too much trouble and your professional manner and prompt response to emails and texts left me at no time without resolution.
I certainly look forward to working with you in the future.
Prominence Social Media is a start-up social media training company operating in New Zealand and the United States. Prominence was founded out of the desire to help those involved in the employment sector to get better results from Social Media. I was brought on board to develop the Prominence identity, including Logo, brand colours, icons, business cards, and website design. I continue to provide ongoing content for web and social media such as the infographics below. Read what founder Chris South says about working with me…

The following is a compilation of designs I have created for Memory Press.
Memory Press is a Graphic Design Studio that specialises in beautiful and memorable funeral programs for people all over the world. It was established in 2014 when a close family friend of mine tragically passed away. Whilst making arrangements for the funeral, the family struggled to find a funeral service sheet that represented the stylish, young soul they had lost. Not wanting to accept anything less than perfect for their loved one, the family approached me to design a unique, custom funeral program. Grateful to be able to help in this small way, I worked with the family to design something just right. The service sheet was a talking point at the service, and much appreciated by the family.
Reflecting on this experience, and astounded at the lack of quality design options available to families through traditional channels, I established Memory Press as a way to make good design accessible to more families in their time of need. You can find out more about Memory Press here.
Every Mother Counts | Infographic
Every Mother Counts (EMC) is a New York based Non-Profit Organisation dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother. Established by Christy Turlington Burns,Their aim is to inform, engage, and mobilise new audiences to take action and raise funds that support maternal health programs around the world.
In early 2014 EMC undertook a large scale rebrand, an integral part of this rebrand was revisiting the way that facts and information were communicated to their audience. I was approached to create an infographic language that could be used throughout the site to get some of the the vast amount of data on the issue across in a simple, visual, and impactful way.
In association with the Katikati Trails Development Group, local organisation - Katch Katikati, and the Western Bay of Plenty District Council, I have been involved in the development of an identity and proposed signage for the new cycle and walk ways to be built in Katikati. The trails will open up some exceptionally beautiful scenery in the area. The project involved creating a logo, brand colours, icons, signage, maps and brochures.
